Everything you need to know to sell your gear on Boardom.
1. Create Your Listing
Tap Sell in the navigation bar to get started. You'll need:
- Photos — Upload clear, well-lit photos from multiple angles. Show the base, edges, bindings, and any wear or damage. Listings with 4+ photos sell up to 3× faster.
- Title & description — Include the brand, model, size, and year if known. Describe the condition honestly — buyers appreciate transparency.
- Category & details — Select the right category (snowboard, skis, bindings, boots, etc.) and fill in equipment specifics so buyers can filter and find your item.
- Price — Set a fair price. Check similar listings on Boardom for a sense of market value. You can always adjust your price later.
2. Pricing Your Gear
A few tips for pricing competitively:
- Check what similar items are listed for — search by brand and category to compare
- Factor in condition — lightly used gear can command 50–70% of retail; heavily used gear is usually 20–40%
- Consider the season — demand for snow sports gear peaks in autumn and winter
- Selling is free on Boardom — there are no listing fees or seller commissions, so what you list is what you earn
3. Communicating with Buyers
Buyers can message you directly through the listing page. Respond promptly — sellers who reply within a few hours are far more likely to close a sale. Be honest about wear, sizing, and any defects. Helpful, upfront communication builds trust and prevents disputes.
4. Packing & Shipping
Once your item sells, package it securely and ship it promptly:
- Packaging — Use a sturdy box or padded bag. Wrap boards and skis in bubble wrap or foam. Protect bindings and boots individually.
- Tracked shipping — Always use a service with tracking so both you and the buyer can follow the delivery.
- Upload tracking — Add the tracking number to the order in your dashboard so the buyer is notified automatically.
- Local collection — If you offered collection, coordinate a safe public meeting spot with the buyer via messages.
5. Getting Paid
Payment is held by Stripe until the buyer confirms receipt (or the 48-hour verification window passes). Once released, funds are transferred to your connected Stripe account. To set up payouts, go to Settings and connect your bank account or debit card through Stripe.
6. Handling Disputes
If a buyer raises a dispute, you'll be notified and asked to provide your side of the story. We review all disputes fairly and may request additional photos or information. To minimise disputes:
- Describe items accurately — disclose all wear and damage
- Ship promptly with tracked delivery
- Package items carefully to avoid transit damage
- Communicate openly with buyers before and after the sale
