Snowboards comparison — 2025-2026 season
How they compare
Both target all mountain and freeride terrain, while the Burton Custom X leans more freestyle. They share a directional twin shape — mostly twin with a slight directional bias—versatile for all-mountain and some switch. Both feature camber profiles — arc underfoot for strong edge hold, pop, and stability on hardpack—lively and precise. The Burton Custom X is slightly stiffer, though both sit in the medium range. The Burton Custom targets advanced riders while the Burton Custom X is aimed at expert riders.

What to inspect and what not to confuse when buying used. Not on-snow reviews.
Burton’s long-running all-mountain camber board. Used Customs are common, so price the base and edges, not the season sticker. Do not treat Custom Flying V as the same used buy — softer flex and a different camber feel.
Burton’s stiffest Custom. Used X decks show up less often than regular Customs, so a clean base can command more — but do not pay Custom X money for a Custom X Flying V. Check for chatter cracks and blown edges from hard charging.
