K2 Alchemist vs Salomon Assassin Pro

How they compare

Both target freeride and all mountain terrain, while the K2 Alchemist leans more powder, while the Salomon Assassin Pro leans more freestyle. The K2 Alchemist uses a directional shape while the Salomon Assassin Pro is directional twin. The K2 Alchemist has a camber profile (arc underfoot for strong edge hold, pop, and stability on hardpack—lively and precise), while the Salomon Assassin Pro uses hybrid (rocker/camber) (mix of camber and rocker zones for all-mountain versatility—grip, float, and play in one profile). At $699.95 vs $849.95 MSRP, the Salomon Assassin Pro is the more budget-friendly option.
